A few Piper bon mots
Just a few things I wanted to remember Piper saying.
In response to my complaining that there isn't a song like the old one about a Rock 'n' Roll Heaven; "Write one. Who's stopping you? Just write one. And be like Lizzo, but with a clarinet. People will say, 'She's better than Squidward.'"
When Matt asked her about volunteering at CommUnity, where she had the job of calling people to come shop, a position called "callbacks": "Yeah, we've got a couple of good Annies, but I'm holding out hope for tomorrow."
When Rachel said that our local radio morning crew, the Morning Scramble was trying to get arrested (for some reason): "If they really want to get arrested, they should refuse to break into programming during severe weather for their government-mandated time." (She then went on to reiterate how broadcast waves are public property, which is a talking point I had told her a few days ago.)
