So I've started reading the Please Save My Earth manga after finishing the OVA today, pushed by a fanficrants rant. The first four volumes - woah, amazing. Beautifull and intense, but-

-the author just had to ruin it with volumes 5 and 6.

Texhnolyze is dead boring.

The character art seems to be the only good point of this series: it looks incredibly good - well, the few characters that are meant to look good look good.

Then a thought came to me that made watching it far more bearable: what's being abused here might be a limited form of the Verfremdungseffekt.
