Today is the first day of my thin life.

Lately I have had the appetite of a woolly mammoth. And my eating habits are getting worse and worse.

Most days, I'll have something to drink and eat some fake meat for breakfast. Once I'm at work, I'll usually caffeinate myself and see how long I can go before I have to grab some sort of granola or breakfast bar from my purse ( Read more... )

Seriously, I don't think anything is as greatly tied to my sense of happiness than my body image.

YES. I am very content about who I am as a person, my personality, my accomplishments, where I am in life... but when body image is wagered in there, all of those things that I am proud about somehow have no effect on my happiness and my body is the only thing I constantly try and work on.

That was stated poorly but I think you get the gist. I can completely identify with you and without trying to sound all cliche, you're not alone. I just ate a bowl of cereal... not because I was that hungry, but because it's cereal and it contains sugar and it tasted good and I was bored. That's the worst... eating because you are bored and I do it all. the. time. :/

I've also been bad about temptation.... it's so hard to make a batch of cookies without eating practically half the batch! This obviously is a very unhealthy way of eating but it's something I don't normally talk about with people so it feels good discussing it here.

Anyway, I don't remember if I had a point. If you like to eat a lot like I do, try really hard to choose what it is you eat. Like the above poster said... bring something more healthy to snack on. Something sweet like fruit always does the trick for me. If the healthy stuff is what turns you off, then you should reevaluate if you're actually hungry or if you just want that granola bar because it tastes good.

You are so right. I know that when I'm hungry, I'll eat just about anything, so I really shouldn't be as picky as I seem to think.

I'm so glad that I posted this because you gals are really making me think about some of my food habits. I shouldn't give up on healthy snacks just because I think, "Oh, that's icky!"

And I am so guilty of eating when I'm bored. I have trouble doing just one thing at a time and when I spend long periods of time in front of the tv or computer, I need *something else*. I know I've mentioned to Leon that I need a hobby--something to do with my hands, so I'm not using them to shovel food into my mouth.
