This upcoming weekend begins the last "Event" of the year. Sept. & Oct. were getting my DH "pinned" as a Navy Chief - several all-nighters and much energy expended. November was getting the house ready for a huge & fancy party. The first weekend in Dec. was the neighborhood house tour (why, yes, ~400 people tromped through our house), and now the in-laws are starting to arrive for the traditional holiday insanity. Fortunately we'll have a full house for only about a week & then they start to leave again. Next, the New Year will have the Inauguration, our birthdays, and another party to christen the new wine cellar which should be finished in the real near future. February brings the crafty in-laws back for Winter Market & a wine tasting. That's about 2 weeks of company right there. March is probably a Renovator's Potluck Dinner which is somewhere between 30 & 100 people. So, STRESS much?
On the up side, however, we (and by 'we' I pretty much mean ME) are really getting the place squared away after about 5 years of just shoveling stuff into the office & my den whenever we have company or otherwise need to straighten up the rest of the house. My den is almost together, and it's together enough to put my sister-in-law up for a week with the futon bed we keep in the closet. The guest room is fantastic with decorations, etc., and the E-room will be comfy for my DH's parents.
The next enterprise is going to be clearing the front of the basement, I'd really like to get some lights up in my corner & start working on some crafts again!
Running out of energy, though.
