New washing maching today! I really wasn't expecting it either. When mama left for the gym, she told me to have a good time wherever I went tonight and be safe. So when she came home, she wasn't expecting me to be in the house even though my car is out in the front. She came in the door and I announced I was still home and she announced back that she got a washing machine! Amazing how excited she was and how I was too. She slid it out of her truck easily apparently but needed my help getting the box off and putting it in the laundry room.
It's really nice and so high tech. I'm not used to something so sophisticated. Of course it's been almost 10 years since we last bought a washing machine. It's natural that they would be so advanced in 2012. It has so many buttons that it looks like a panel in a plane, not a run of the mill washing machine. But then again it's not run of the mill. It's a Maytag Bravos. To top it off, it's high efficiency and top loading! I didn't even know that they could come in top loading format. I'm so used to them being front loading.
Reading the instruction manual assured the user that there would be many different things going on with the machine as it goes through the cycles that one wouldn't expect from a traditional machine. This is normal. Running it through it's first cycle, I'd say that's an understatement. Supposedly, it doesn't cover the clothes in water and no longer is there an agitator. Instead, there's a sort of plate that makes the clothes rotate.
So it's been a complete month and 3 days when our last maching broke down and we started a regular routine of going to the laundromat. I had no complaints. It just makes one appreciate having their own. But it's nice to know that there's a laundromat when we need one.
