Waltzing Matilda

William 'Jack' Miller. 4/1/1930-10/15/2010.

Crept away in his sleep after everyone else had gone to bed. Was a husband, a father, a grandfather and so much more. Words cannot even begin to describe this man. He was a true renaissance man, able to wear so many different hats and do so much. He worked hard and earned every penny he had, retired happy and still helped others. Was always happy, didn't like conflict, was always singing, always. His guitar was his staple, it came out for just about every family gathering.

I sang "Waltzing Matilda" at the service because it was his favorite and "Caledonia" with Alison because it was about going home which is what he would talk about a lot. I cried, I laughed, I hugged and kissed people, held them all close to me, and hurt from the inside out. He's never gone, not really; it's a simple case of his memory being alive so long as we continue to talk about him, to remember him and what an amazing person he was.

My heart hurts, my body hurts, my head hurts, but this will pass.

Love you Grampa.
