The setup: I guy I know through the civic club's 13 year old daughter was kayaking in Trinidad (where her mom is from) and got run over by a 28' speedboat. After 6 or 7 operation and a very expensive air ambulance home, they amputated her arm. After watching an episode of Fairie tale theatre it was time to get the kids to bed. Shuffle playing music today, a 10 second piece from a kids album came on. It says "this is the sound of a hog snorting", and then has some grunts for a few seconds. If your day needs perspective, I recommend this. Goes on all playlists from now on.
Also Technotronic's "Pump up the Jam" came on, and Lucy (age 4) has decided it is her favorite

today the papaya was showing me a couple of cute pictures she drew that were hanging on the wall.  We discussed them for a while, then she told me, clearly not knowing if I was going to be mad, "btw, we couldn't find any tape."  Long pause.  "So I found some Jello that I spilled yesterday, and it was sticky, so I hung them with that."

Now Vera (10 months) beeps my nose over and over, and laughs each time. If she doesn't get gentler, I think it will fall off.

So I am in love with Vera, and she loves another. Am I allowed to be jealous of a stuffed owl?
