Martin felt like skipping out of the police station, but through sheer force of will, he made himself walk away solemnly. Everything had gone exactly according to plan, and he was literally going to get away with murder!
He had brilliantly faked his wife’s accident, he’d soon be collecting a nice insurance payout, and the cops suspected nothing. Nothing could ruin this day!
He knocked into a very thin man in a dark coat, turned to tell him to watch it, and choked on his chewing gum.
“Oops,” Death couldn’t help remarking with a smirk. “What a simply terrible accident.”
