Last night at 2 or 3 am I was woken up by CATS. It sounded like there were a dozen howling, screeching, angry, fighting cats outside my window. I have yet to see a cat in the daylight.... but apparently they all come out at night to wake me up ( Read more... )

Today I spent a couple hours getting lost in Sendai. It was super frustrating. All I wanted to do was bike to my school so I could memorize it for tomorrow. The school is less than one mile away from my apartment, but you would never know it by biking it. It's maybe 15 minutes away on bike. Lets see... last night I went to bed at about 10pm and slept for 11 hours. I felt well rested during the day (especially compared to the previous day). Today we had more meetings (that's all the orientation is, after all). I will leave tomorrow morning for Sendai, via the shinkansen (bullet train) - which I'm VERY excited to ride on! I made it! The flight was pretty horrible since it was SO LONG. I think I lightly and uncomfortably slept for an hour. I arrived shortly after 5pm on August 3rd. I missed about 25 hours. Very soon after we left the airport the sun was setting... because they don't have daylight saving time here.
