Appalachian State won the semi-finals!

This is football, folks, so if you have no interest, move on along. *grin*

Anyway, Appalachian State beat Richmond 55 - 35 last night so they're going to play the University of Delaware for the championship next week in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jeremy and I, as we so often do, watched the game "together." He was at the stadium and I was on my sofa at home. We called each other every few minutes.

I'd never seen App play before, though I've read about their games in the paper. Whoa. They have a quarterback named Armanti Edwards. Quarterbacks don't generally do much running. Edwards is a running back wearing a quarterback's number! Seriously. (In fact, about a minute after I said that very thing to Jim, who didn't understand me, the announcer said the same thing, only he phrased it differently.) He rushed ("footballese" for ran) for 313 yards and four touchdowns. He also passed for three more touchdowns.

The championship game oughta be a good one. sam_gamgee graduated from the University of Delaware. Either she or I will be pouting this time next week. *grin* Now here's a hint for her team: If y'all have got Big Offense, you might have a chance 'cause App's Defense is not all that. But if you're relying on your D to stop App's O (esp. Armanti Edwards!), well lotsa luck with that.
