Redskins 24 Chicago 16

*dances*

It was an ugly game with some serious injuries (our QB is out with a season-ending injury for example) but we finally managed NOT to shoot ourselves in the foot in the 4th quarter!

*glee*

Jeremy and I, of course, "watched" the game together. I did more listening to Redskins Radio on my computer than watching of anything.

NFL.com had the game in streaming video and that would have been fine if they had, you know, actually SHOWN the game. But no. They spent much of their time while actual plays were being made (I know 'cause I was listening to Sonny Jurgenson, Larry Michael, and Sam Huff on the radio) in the studio with talking heads. I don't want talking heads while plays are going on on the field. So I listened to Redskins Radio, played on the message boards at Extreme Skins, and looked at NFL.com every little bit. It was weird, too, because the time delay at NFL.com was shorter than on Redskins Radio so I often watched something happen and then 30 seconds or so later, Sonny and Company would play-by-play it. And then NFL.com would go to the talking heads again and when the on-field action would be shown again, it'd be 10 or 15 seconds behind Redskins Radio (instead of ahead of it) I'm tellin' ya, it's a good thing I know football 'cause otherwise I'd have had my little head in a spin.

Coach Smith of the Bears did some truly weird play-calling in the last quarter, too. As I said, it was one ugly game. Lots of penalties, lots of injuries on both sides. But no Redskins-foot-shooting! So yay!

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for Old DC!

(The above doggerel is the opening of our fight song.)
