October 8th is a tough day for me, but not in the way you would think. You see, today (in different years), I lost my mom, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and a dear friend. She is in the hospital. She was having trouble breathing on Sunday and was taken to the ER. They admitted her and ran a battery of tests, trying to determine if it was her heart or lungs that were the issue. At the end of four days, they have decided it's not her heart. She was getting ready to be discharged and will be seeing a lung specialist. ( Read more... )

Yesterday was a pretty weird day. While we were watching TV, we had a glass shelf break. A tiki glass, a cat statue, and my beloved ‘little grass shack’ tchotchke were casualties. My sister called this morning to tell me that my brother passed. She said it was peaceful, just like he'd hoped for. He'd been in intensive care for a few days, so I'd been expecting this. She said there would be no services because of CV and they wouldn't be burying him in Roswell, as was his wishes, until it was safe to travel ( Read more... )

Wanted to let everyone know that my brother, the one that was on death's door three or so weeks ago, is still hanging in there. His chances of coming home are next to nil, but my sister says that he's happy and all the staff loves him. He must be on some pretty good stuff because he's usually curmudgeonous to say the least. Ours was nice, but I’m a little pissed at Barb’s family. The dining room table seats 10 comfortably and 11 not badly. Barb had set up the kitchen table for her niece, Suzanne, her husband, Craig, Jeff, and Leah, another niece.
