Real Life: Updated

A while back I had posted that we had ceremoniously made the last payment on our house.  A short while later, we decided to do a crazy thing and put it on the market.  Call it 'mid-life madness.'  Now our house has sold and we have to be out by Jan. 21.  What a way to spend the holidays.  We don't have a new place as of yet and will be renting from a friend. And living out of boxes.

Sadly, I have had little time to write the past few months.  My job and other RL things keep me much too busy.  *Sigh*  But mvernet and I did get a piece in the Advent Calendar and I'll hopefully have an entry for dawnebeth 's 'bridge over troubled water' challenge.  This situation needs to change!

A bit of good news is that I am working on my relationship with my sisters.  We are talking and trying to figure out how to relate to each other.  Perhaps they've come to the realization that I'm not so bad after all.  But it's important to me that I continue to stand up for myself rather than allow myself to be treated like a doormat.  It's too easy to slip back into old patterns.  My mother, however, still refuses to talk to me.

My blended kids/spouses all teamed up to take hubs and i to dinner last night, hibachi style. We had a wonderful time.  It was a dream come true to see everyone getting along and enjoying each other (except for my daughter who lives out of state).  I continue to believe miracles happen.  (Do you hear that Electoral College?)
