First Year
It has been one year since Jan and I took our vows. We've seen some good times and some bad times. I guess that is typical for any marriage but at least neither of us had to endure anything alone.
Today we celebrated by sleeping in. Then we went to Hiawassee to one of our favorite restaurants followed by a movie.
It has become sort of a tradition for us to show up to the movie early and spend a little time at the arcade next door. We usually spend about $10 and see how many tickets we can win at the various games. Today we did well and together we won 5 jackpots which netted us over 1800 tickets. Then, as is our tradition, we found a single kid and gave all our tickets to the kid's parent with instructions to let the kid trade the tickets for anything they wanted. We have no need for whoopee cushions or Chinese finger traps or little carnival trinkets like that. We just like to watch the kids trade their tickets in for toys. Today a 6 year old little girl and her 4 year old sister were the lucky recipients.
