For the sake of posterity, here are rules for sewing that I'll someday need to teach my kid, unless she hates me, hates sewing, or I suffer some untimely demise. My own mother taught me lots of good things about sewing... although I'd have to say, I haven't actually done a blind hem stitch since I lived with her. Who hand sews anything anymore? It's been a little toasty outside lately. This week's highs were around, oh, 107? 108? Which is a total pain if you have a fussy baby who's calmed down by going outside... you constantly debate if you want her to be angry or boiled. I know a woman who tells me regularly that all she ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. So I guess she thinks I'm fulfilled now? At least I know she's unable to relate to my happiness about returning to work. She says it a LOT. In fact the whole phrase kinda makes me cringe... "All I ever wanted was to be a wife and mother". Hate to break it to a few of you, but I've noticed a growing resistance to the idea of shipping twitter status updates to the outside world. ESPECIALLY here on livejournal, where a close-knit group of geeks still bare the torch for blogging as its creators intended blogging to be.
