I'm going to my brother's for a cook-out today, but first I'm stopping by my father's grave to put some flowers there. My dad was a veteran of the Second World War and served in the ETO. He was extremely proud of his service, and I was extremely proud of him.
As much as I dislike the war in Iraq, I never, ever forget what we owe all those men and women who have given up their lives and their health to keep us safe and secure so that we have the right and privilege to bitch and complain and protest.
If you see a serviceman or woman today, thank them for serving their country and putting their lives on the line for you.
