Mom and me
Me, first. Today is my 24th anniversary with my employer. Six more years, and I could retire with a reduced pension. Eleven more years, and I'm definitely outta here! :)
In Mom news, it looks like we may get to spring her from the rehab center next week. The rehab therapist wanted to do a walk-through this afternoon, which consisted of seeing if Mom could get in and out of the car, walk around the apartment, get up and down from her favorite chair, the bed, and the toilet, and generally maneuver around with a minimum or no help. We couldn't do it today because she had that appointment with her orthopedic surgeon this morning and by the time she got back to the rehab center and I finally got back in touch with the therapist, it was far too late to do anything today. However, she and my sister-in-law were able to set it up for early Monday morning. So we'll see. I hope we get her home soon. I know she's sick of being there, my dad misses her, and I'd love to have my lunch hours back again. *g*
