My life is filled with people whom I adore, admire and love. So many people inspire me, including a certain leperchan-esque fella I talked to yesterday. He said that life is not wasted as long as you make conscious decisions. So in an almost-sickening effort to be uplifting (and remind myself that life isn't pointless; I DO have worth and meaning and LIFE) Ima list the conscious decisions that I've made, which make me smile.
-I buy all my clothes second-hand or make them, or alter old ones so as not to give money to corporations that outsource labor to make money and take advantage of lower standards of employment (i.e. child labor).
-I don't buy bottled water because its packaging is a waste of resources and it is a COMPLETE waste of money while our tax dollars make sure we have drinkable, usable water in our own homes... and FOR FREE at schools, parks, libraries and other public spaces.
-I attempt to create art in the persuit of expression, beauty, entertainment and education.
-I work with kids and try to help them see past the strict, binary gender system and consumer-driven world we live in... because both limit our potential and distract us from important issues.
-When the pressures of time and distance allow, I walk instead of driving.
-I challenge peoples' agist, racist, sexist, homophobic, egocentric and biggoted ideas.
-I attend one of the finest schools (within my economic means) in my state.
alright. enough of me building myself up. pride is nice. so is humility.
blip.
