"What's this?"
"Oh goodness, a box?"
"Yes…but it's covered in butcher paper with celery and bananas glued to the sides?"
"You were out of wrapping paper."
"And you used my tie. My favorite blue tie!"
"It was a plausible substitute for ribbon, even matches the paper."
"You didn't have to shred it."
"How else was I going to get that little curly-q effect?"
"You-you actually gave me a birthday present."
"Oh puh-lease. It's not like you haven't been hinting about it for weeks."
"So, what's in it?"
"Now that-would just ruin the whole surprise."
"That's what scares me."
