A few hours past midnight seems to be the best time for posting in livejournals - a universal truth to all that live in a busy household and are trying to hold down two jobs at once. There's no internet access at work, so it's not like I can update there when it gets quiet. Although, I really could just write something physically and then post it, but there also remains the fact that there is absolutely NOTHING I hate more than being interrupted while I write. Even at school, the single most productive place for me to do my writing was in one of those single person study cubicles that were as close as the library could get to sound proof. Dim lights and drab colors seems to help my brain focus on simply finishing whatever task it is I have at hand. A small menagerie and parents that need help around the house is a welcome change, but not an environment meant to support one who needs to focus.
Working the late shift at the video store is alright. The updside is that when it's quiet, I can sit around and listen to KING FM and read. This results in my making it through my reading books rather than carrying them with me whereever I go. I'm actually getting some reading done and, after two whole months, am finally starting to come to the end of "The House of the Dead." In a perfect world, I'd have some quiet reading corner. The problem is, I can never find one around here quiet enough that I'm actually able to focus on my reading. And no... I have no interest in taking my medication so that I can do leisure reading. I'll have to settle for getting what I can done at the store.
Dad and I are going biking every day now, or at least, that's the plan. Once I finish reading "House of the Dead," I'm going to pass it off to him. Maybe then we can bike to a park somewhere, stop for 45 minutes and enjoy some reading, and then bike back. I need to get back into dancing though, since that helped get my abdominals in gear. I saw some pictures of me and HOLY CRAP. I have no idea where that GUT came from. My legs look great thanks to the biking and all that, but Christ. I'm begininning to discover a whole new body type that I never knew I was capable of having: the white trash bubble body. Thin arms, thin legs, and a lovely bean shaped torso whose greatest curve is the sway of its belly. Um yeah.... not attractive. I need to focus on my upper body, or I'm going to be looking very strange very soon.
Anyway... I had high hopes for this post, but I'm feeling extraordinarily uninspired. Possibly due to the fact that it's almost 4 am. Time for me to attempt to read a little bit more and then for once, fall asleep without the television blaring me in to a white noise induced stupor.
