Happy Long Weekend in May everyone! (for those who have it).
I am trying to retrain myself this week for getting up earlier and hitting the gym. I will not necessarily actually be GOING to the gym, but I am going to try. In taking these slow and transitional, I don't know if going to the gym twice a week AND working full time again, AND retraining my wake up brain is going to work so I am mentally and physically prepared for the onslaught of exhaustion. I AM going to the gym tomorrow whether it is the morning or after work, because even though I worked out at home all weekend, I need to go tanning before I go away next weekend.
I checked online this morning and was advised by Workday that my time was approved and inputted, so now I am just waiting to see what my pay will be. If I have to get a cash advance, so be it, but I doubt it given all 49 hours appear to be approved. That means Niagara, groceries, bills, AND my foster parents. But this is me getting ahead of myself. Take it day by day.
Quiche is in the oven, zero-calorie cabbage soup on the stove cooling, lunch prep for the week and tomorrow done, laundry in the washing machine but not on yet, and taking stock of what I need for this week now by scheduling in the planner, groceries, and budgetting.
The weekend was harry with everyone being out of power. A gigantic storm, which I am sure everyone experienced, knocked out my own power for 18 hours and others way more, such as SW who is looking at 3 days without - though he has back ups - and others who had similar issues over the weekend. What I did, was kept the fridge shut, spent money I shouldn't have by missing a meal Saturday night and in the morning getting Tim Horton's coffee and a breakfast sandwich and water because the Tim's up the street managed to get power over night, and going to Longo's to get food that doesn't necessarily have to go in the fridge "just in case" and really, other than that, I read in bed by either sunlight or by fading sunlight, and then watched YouTube on my phone until I fell asleep Saturday night with my phone which I had charged using my laptop battery. It, in essence, was a very quiet, relaxing weekend, even with working out at home.
Others suffered greatly, such as Frank who had power but literally trees fallen absolutely everywhere, crushing streets, etc. He was cutting down giant beams of fallen trees texting me, when he sends me a blasting text, attaching a photo, wherein for some reason an ice cream truck chose that moment to roll down his street. We did end up laughing about it, but the audacity of that truck is astounding lol
Giant Shout OUT to the first responders, electricians and Toronto Hydro for getting us back up and running and taking care of emergencies!
In contrast to the wicked, wind raging storms throughout the weekend, it is now blindingly bright outside and shining directly into my eyes. Go figure.
Now that this is written, I am going to drink my coffee and more water, pull out the quiche which should be close to ready, sweep/vacuum, potentially wash the floors, and watch my show - and probably do only some of the above because now that I've cracked open Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, book 1 again, I've this huge urge to curl up and read. That's what happens when you find a good book - no matter how many times you read it, it is still just as enrapturing as the last time you read it.
