These are in order by importance:
I got an update from Faith (Jim's mom) this morning. She said he was experiencing less pain, hopped up on morphine, but he still wanted to go home. She said they were going to have a meeting later about Jim's treatment options, and she was going to ask how much longer he'd have to stay. I know Jim and her were never close, but I saw concern in her eyes last night. She's a mother, caring for her second son, and although he's the least loved, she still cares. I'm glad for that.
I had two finals today: pre-calc and band. I thought I did pretty well on the pre-calc one, and the band one was too easy. Seriously, I had 90 minutes to do the band one, and I finished it in 15. Then I just sat there and stared at the ceiling until I got a headache.
After school, I went to see my pre-calc teacher, Mrs. S, about missing assignments, and she told me I got a 70 on the final.
I PASSED! :D
So this weekend, I have to make up missing pre-calc work, study for the chemistry final, finish the band project, and work on the final project for publications.
Lucky me.
Today is Mike's birthday. He's turning 24. Chris got him an ice cream cake (yummmm) and so I guess we'll cut it later.
I went to the doctor after school about my sore throat, and she took a swab (yuck) and sent it away. She said they'll grow whatever was on the swab, from the back of my throat, for three days. If bacteria grows, I have an issue. I thought it was totally awesome, and we sat and talked for like an hour about how they grow it, the conditions, how they identify certain types of bacteria, etc. I was fascinated.
So when I walked back into the waiting room, Dad asked me what took so long. And I told him that I may have a possible future career in science.
To summarize: Jim's in less pain due to medication, two finals are out of the way, Mike's 24, and I have a culture growing at Labcorp.
Awesome.
