Today had to be one of the worst days ever.
Started after school, I guess. Dwayne's mother called me. He's in the hospital; she found him passed out in the shower. He's being treated for alcohol poisoning, and they're testing his liver. They said he may have Cirrhosis, which isn't a surprise. Still, it isn't something I wanted to hear. At all.
Then after school, I had Jazz band. After that Sami and I were headed up town to get something to eat. We were thinking Chinese...
Anyway I stopped at a stop sign. I looked left. I looked right. I looked left AGAIN. I looked right AGAIN.
And I pulled out in front of a rather large tan van.
T-boned. My first major accident.
I was so worried about Sami being okay, and the other driver, and the car...oh Old Blue... I couldn't get the driver's side door opened, but thank God that van hit it where it did! The car still runs like a gem, and it had better. It's all I got.
The other driver was okay, and so was Sami. The guy actually gave me a hug and asked me if I was okay. He was REALLY nice. He offered not to call the cops, to spare me a ticket. He could have given me A LOT more trouble than he did.
So thank you, kind sir, for giving me some genuine kindness in my time of distress.
With the accident...I had to call Dad. :| He was on his way home and stopped by. Sami got a ride with her grandmother... Dad was pissed, but oddly enough he wasn't as angry as I thought he would be. He seemed distracted, but I didn't know why until dinner.
That's when Dad dropped the bomb.
Over spaghetti Dad talked about his doctor appointment today. It was a checkup from his colonoscopy, last Friday, when they removed a few polyps around his appendix. They tested them and found them to be benign, but were a particular kind that were likely to develop INTO cancer. Colon, stomach, and bladder cancer run in our family, so this is serious. He has to go back for another colonoscopy. They hope to remove all of it (80% is already gone), but if they can't they'll have to remove his appendix along with part of his colon.
This isn't something we need right now. :| Something we can't afford.
Then I went to the bank. I'm in the red, and I don't understand why. Yesterday I had $6.66. What happened?
Life happened, I guess.
Today needs to get over itself and END. I'm going to bed early.
It's time to throw in the towel today.
