When Dwayne picked me up around 2:30, he took a look at me, looked at his phone, and then did a double take. His eyes got wide, and I laughed. Then, loudly, he asked, "When the fuck did you do that?" I calmly explained it all, and he chuckled and said, "Jim's gonna love you."
We drove to Baltimore and headed for John's Hopkins. We found Jim's room easy, and Dwayne went in first. I heard him say my name, and Jim clearly replied, "Where is she? Is she here?"
I walked in and looked at Jim. There was HUGE pause, and then he turned to Dwayne and asked, "Did I die?" We all started to laugh, and then Jim told me to come over and sit with him. I did, and he looked me over and asked, "How'd that happen?" I told him all about it, and then I asked him if he liked it. He shrugged, but he was smiling. Then he said what I've been waiting all along for someone to say:
"I don't care what you look like, you're pretty inside and out."
FINALLY SOMEONE DOESN'T CARE!!!
I gave him a big hug and sat and talked with him. And he told us the best news I've heard all week. He had surgery last Friday, and his doctors are sure that they've removed all of the cancer, which is a HUGE difference, compared to Easton Hospital's whole "he isn't going to make it" speech. I knew they were bullshitting us. I KNEW IT. And this is proof: Johns Hopkins is giving him a 95% recovery rate.
0% to 95%!
How amazing is that!?
When we left, Jim took my hand and said, "You're so much prettier without the makeup. You don't look like yourself right now." I smiled at him and thanked him, and then I left.
On the way home, Robby texted me, asking if I wouldn't mind wearing makeup tomorrow. He likes it.
Perfect example of how different those two are.
Anyway, I'm thankful for Jim's expected recovery. God listened to me, and I love Him for it.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I think we've made it! :D
It's such HUGE relief!
