It's been a long couple of weeks. I love my classes even though they're flooding me. I hate my job and hopefully will be getting a new one soon. I love my activism, but the problem with this is trying to figure out how to make it my life's work. I have become disillusioned with political science. I love what I learn and I love my classes but the only way I can see to apply it would be working with the government. A government I don't agree with. Mainly the government that supported dictatorships in Latin America, the government that killed Che Guevara, the government that refuses to use its military for humanitarian issues.
I just don't know where this is all going to take me.
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities came to give a speech on internships they give out. They offer dozens of them within government departments like the CIA, State Department, Department of Homeland Security, etc. I think I am going to try and get one and see what happens with that.
Last night I gave a little presentation on how Art is used as Political Protest. I had a lot of fun doing it. Afterwards The Arts took a field trip to Rollins College (which was absolutely gorgeous) for an artist gathering. They were local artists who own a shop in downtown. They were amazing, very humble people. Their art was amazing and some of it fit exactly with what my presentation was about. It made me want to become an artist. I wish I had artistic talent.
I have a lot of homework to do over the weekend. Read a book and write a ten page paper. I wanted to get my windshield fixed but again it seems like I won't have much time to get that done.
Being this busy is bitter-sweet. I feel like I get a lot accomplished and not a whole lot at the same time.
