Yup, May 20 was my last entry and I have trouble sometimes remembering what I did a few days ago. I think this will end up just a summary, with not too many stories. The end of May I had some work done on my Jeep - some parts to keep the wheels from shaking while driving, front end alignment and other work. During the last weekend we had two graduation parties on Saturday and one on Sunday afternoon. Then Saturday evening a nephew's birthday party/ campfire, food and drinking night. We left when it started getting dark and thought it was about 9:30, since we had to get up for church at 9:00, but when we got to the car, it was actually 10:30 because it stays light out so late UP here in the Upper Peninsula of MI.
Memorial Day we went to Rock for their ceremony, as that is our home town. It's really something with over the 200+ names of those who have died in Service to our country or have since died that were in wars, that we personally know over half of them. That's how it is in a small town. When we got home we headed to Iron Mountain, with our camper pre readied and hooked to my Jeep, as we took Sally's to Rock, for a camping time at Summer Breeze Campground. We stayed 2 nights as I had clock work to do there on Tuesday and a VA yearly checkup on Wednesday. It was a really nice campground, but it was cold and rained the last night, so luckily we have the pop up camper and a heater! We did a little touristy shopping and visited our former Pastor.
June 1 was our town wide rummage sale day. We were out about 3 1/2 hours and all that we bought was a Father Christmas statue about 10 inches high, since I sort of collect ones that I like. Sunday we went to our church service at 9, came home and did a few things and then left for Trenary for the first half of a church service for the installation of their new Pastor and shared by the church in our home town of Rock. Then we all drove to Faith Lutheran where the second half of the installation service was held, followed by a pot luck dinner. That was lots of fun!
Wednesday, June 5 I had my chiropractic session and massage. Thursday evening through Saturday was our play at the Vista Theater, "Monty Python's SPAMALOT, A New Musical (lovingly) ripped from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail." That's a really funny play and we had many new actors and audience members, as well. Tuesday evening at the Vista we had in the Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle. They played a lot of music, did skits, and sang songs. A very fun group who are similar to us at the Vista Theater. After, Sally and I went to Barr's Bar to watch karaoke and have a few drinks. The group that performed came too, still in sequined costumes and "theatrical" clothing. Most of the regulars hardly blinked an eye, because they are used to the theater group being there, but there were a few "strangers" and they did a tripple take when they walked in and then slunk to the other end of the bar. The Lansing group said this was the best fun and most friendly group they had been with since their tour began a few years ago.
It was back to Spamalot for Thursday through Saturday, with a lot better attendance this week. Saturday morning I took some debris, trash, broken things, items we were throwing out, cleaned up around the house things to our township's garbage place. Brandon had helped me fill up my pick up plow truck bed in between when he was "resting" from raking our yard. Finally just got that done as it has been so cold and windy. I couldn't believe how much I through away, it was 868 pounds and cost $69.44.
I don't believe it, I did it, but not on my own memory, thanks to google calendar! We did have a birthday party at a lake place on Sunday, of a friend that Sally knows. That was a lot of fun and got to meet some new people and found out others were there that we knew. Other than that I have been working on clocks here and there and doing home maintenance and other projects.
