My clock sale ended last Saturday, May 11, but not a person came by nor did I sell any clocks, so tonight a bunch of them went on ebay and Craigs list, although my sales don't do well there either, but I made the prices a lot lower, just to break even on what I spent on them. That evening we went to the Negaunee Male Chorus and had an enjoyable evening.
Sunday, May 12, after church I took Sally our for breakfast at the A&M Cafe in Skandia. They serve so much food, but it sure was good. That afternoon I worked on projects around and in the house. Monday I had my chiropractic and massage appointment since I couldn't go last Wednesday when we had the visitation for the funeral. Then I went back to the theater to work on the water pipes, after doing some errands and shopping in Marquette. I still had trouble with the pipes leaking, as I found out after the city turned on the water again.
Tuesday I called a plumber to fix the pipes at the theater and he'll be there Wednesday. That afternoon, Sally and I went to Manistique to get a tubular chime movement out of a clock, so that took all afternoon as it is almost 2 hours away. On Wednesday, the plumber met me at the theater and fixed all the pipe leaks in over an hour. He donated some parts and I had to buy a few, but then he said he would donate his time so that our Vista Theater could continue to have plays this summer! That sure was nice. I picked Brandon up from school as he was going to rake our yard, but it was too windy, so he helped me re do the insulation in our living room ceiling and get one of the 4 x 8 foot plywood panels back up. We had a heck of a time and it took almost an hour, but we got it back in place. One end had to go over a brick wall and around the fire place chimney. There was a board that was low over the brick and unaccessible, so it kept blocking the plywood. We finally found a way to pry it up and then the plywood slid back into place quite easily.
Thursday, May 16, Sally had a funeral to play for at another church, and then I met her in Marquette for our Lutheran Church's Synod Assembly's evening church service where she sang with the choir and our first plenary session began. It was followed by snacks and then we both drove home. Friday we had to get up at 6 a.m. to be at NMU by 7:45 for the start of the rest of the Synod Assembly. We had two hours for lunch on our own, so we went looking for deck railing planters, but everything is plastic and we didn't like them, so I will build my own. We ate at Arby's. The afternoon was taken up by more business, workshops, and we ended the day with a banquet, good food, and good entertainment from Jay Beach and a group of singers from Tanzania, where the ELCA sends money for support for their churches.
Saturday we were back at Assembly again, but not until 8:30 a.m. We were done at noon as there were not any major things to vote on this year. We did grocery shopping and came home. I worked on projects again, one of which was starting to put our living room wall back together after the spray foaming that was done. In the evening we went to the Negaunee Eagles Club for a mystery dinner theater, put on by the Vista Theater. We had so much good food, including dessert, and the play was so funny. We met some nice people at our table and had a lot of fun.
Today, Sunday, was church and nothing after, so when I got home I had plenty of time to get some work done outside, since it was 81 degrees today. I mostly worked on un-winterizing the pop up camper, drained the RV antifreeze, rinsed it out and ran bleached water through the holding tank for potable water and the pipes it ran through. Washed some parts of the camper and oiled others. I also fixed the tailgate latch on my plow truck, raked under the clothes lines and we walked through the woods for a 20 minute walk. Oh, and I got the Christmas lights and controller down from around and above the garage doors. Now I only have two speakers left to take down, but I do have to finish all the underground wiring that didn't get done last year.
