Saturday morning, Dec 29, Lani and Ryan and their family left for Rick's, although he is staying here until next week. Saturday we cleaned the house a bit, put our Christmas gifts away and just sort of relaxed. Sunday was church. In the afternoon, I even took an hour and a half nap, and then we had company. Our former pastor came to visit and stay for supper. She is always so much fun and we had a lot of good conversation and laughs.
Monday afternoon, December 31, I took Brandon to see "The Hobbit" and we ate at Culver's after the movie. We then came here so I could show him the Light Show, but for some reason only part of it was working. After I brought him back home and came home, it worked for awhile again. I did find one cable that had cracked from the 14 deg. F temperature we had, and our neighbors had a big outdoor party and they had a generator with big lights on and other electrical devices that may have caused interference with the light show. Sally and Rick had gone to Rodney's to eat and then stopped at the store for some champagne that we had at midnight after watching the Times Square ball drop in New York and we stayed up watching tv, chatting, and talking to Lani on the phone, as they had made it back home to Alabama.
On Monday we set up the Roomba that I got for Sally and we put it in our bedroom. We had fun watching it scoot under the bed, around objects and cleaning while it did that. New year's day, in the evening we drove 20 miles to a restaurant that we haven't been to before, and it was my treat. Really good food, big portions and a low price at The Knotty Pine Bar in Arnold, MI. Rick left on Wednesday and I went to Negaunee and Marquette for some errands, pick up the theater mail, and go to my chiropractic appointment and massage. I picked up some KFC on the way home for our supper.
Today, Thursday, I took down the signs for my light show and sorted and straightened up the storage shed so I can start getting things put away. Sally went to Marquette for some errands, shopping and grocery shopping. So that's about it for the new year.
