*groan*

You'd think after the Scarlet disaster Grandma would have learned her lesson. Then I remembered that this is Grandma and she's probably already forgotten about last Thursday evening.

For tonight she set me up again with another of her friend's daughters. This time, however, I know who I'm going out with. It's that girl Pai, the one that I met when I went to the store and got mobbed by an army of my "fans." Her grandparents own the store near our house that Grandma likes to shop at for fresh vegetables and fruits. She said that she "just happened to bring up the subject of dating" while she was there and, well... The next thing I know I've got a date with Pai.

Not that I'm still upset with her for that incident in the store and losing my favorite baseball cap to some rabid fangirl because of her, I just didn't want to be on another date. I had no idea about the date tonight until Pai called the house this morning asking what she should wear for "our" date. While Pai was bubbling over with excitement on the phone to me, Grandma was happily explaining about her trip to the store. Now this was a tight spot. If I was a cold-hearted bastard I would have cut Pai off, then tell her that I didn't want to go on a date with her, and hang up. But since I'm not a cold-hearted bastard (to women), I glared at Grandma (who just stared back with that happy grin of hers) as I told Pai I would pick her up by seven.

I really don't want to be on a date tonight. I'd rather go to Jen's fondue party at Nappa's. *sigh* It is just dinner and a movie. I can live.
