So, let me tell you what would not be on my list of 'fun and exciting things to do as an adoring and supportive girlfriend:' going to the gym and watching the boyfriend work out.
Apparently, Random Girl didn't think so either, but was she letting Spikey-Haired Boy know that? Not when he actually looked at her when looking away from his 'awesome muscles' at the handy wall to wall mirrors at the gym today. I've seen Spikey-Haired Boy around before, he's always gelled to perfection and working on weights--the work's paid off, I'll admit that he's gotten pretty buff. Buff enough so that his flashy new Asian tattoos don't look ridiculous.
But when I see him usher in Random Girl--her brown hair long, flawlessly straightened, make-up meticulously applied, I think that he's going to leave with her or that she's going to get changed and join in the work-out. Oh no, I was mistaken.
Instead she sits there, against the mirrored wall, bundled up in her faux-fur lined jacket, and watches as Spikey-Haired Boy begins to lift barbells in front of her.
Now, if they were talking while they were doing this, it wouldn't have been as funny. But they weren't. They were hardly even looking at each other. Spikey-Haired Boy kept staring at his reflection in the mirror as he flexed and Random Girl was glancing all around. And when she looked at him, she had the most bored look on her face, she could have been in study hall. It only changed when he'd glance down at her, but the instant he looked away, she dropped the look of vague interest (not even fake adoration, just vague interest) and went back to looking bored.
Attention People: Why torture yourself? Don't you have anything better to do? C'mon, now!
This ends today's segment of, "I saw a funny thing at the gym."
