Follow the rabbit down its hole...
At about midnight on Monday the 18th of October, a blast of wind whistles through the streets, and a deep voice suddenly bellows out the following very familiar verse for all denizens of Somarium to hear:
"To find the answers you seek,
Follow the rabbit down its hole.
Don't forget to use force!
The statue can be heavy."
Whose voice was it? How could it be that it is loud enough for every man, woman, and child in Somarium to hear clear as a church bell? Again, a wind bustles through the streets of Somni and swirls about the village Espoir.
"Have you not the brains to figure it out?? I have waited long enough, watching you all run around without any aim! You are lucky I am bored and generous enough to grant you one blazing hint."
It is the large, mysterious statue hovering over the sink-hole. All along, the creepy thing has been watching and listening, waiting for that one intelligent fool brave enough and reckless enough to seek an answer to the inscripted riddle along its body.
With his lecture concluded, there is a bright, shining green light beaming from the center of Espoir square. It is the fountain, to be exact: the rabbit fountain planted directly under each and every citizen's noses.
It seems the riddle should have been taken literally after all, for beneath that rabbit lay a cavelike entrance, blocked and hidden away for months. Those with the sharpest memories should recall the tunnels twisting below the village and city, chock full of secrets yet to be discovered.
The statue gave one final farewell before falling silent once more, the glow from Espoir square slowly dissipating:
"Use it well."
((NOTE: The statue is now urging folks into the tunnels. For now, it will be impossible to blast the rabbit away and discover the path underneath; only the strongest of force will chip away at the statue, but it will not be destroyed completely. However, within the next few days, the magic holding the rabbit statue together will weaken.
The next moon cycle will provide more information about the rabbit and the tunnels.
