Where had Raiden last seen the Overlord?

Shortly after Raiden received a mysterious voice mail indicating his 'selection' in the Overlord's Secret Santa, he had ventured out into the city and back into Espoir in order to find an explanation. Raiden didn't belong in festive events. He never did. There was no reason why he should participate; it would be unwanted for him and his 'secret santa' recipient, Raven ( ... )

While Raiden was concentrating so hard on the Overlord, another ghost started to float up behind him... and as he started to near the Overlord, this new ghost floated through his body and turned around in front of him to stare into his face with wide eyes. "Hee hee~"

Why Frank felt compelled to leave the safe(?) confines of Outer Heaven, even he couldn't say for sure. His Dreamberry had left him a strange message and not knowing what else to do, the boy thought to do what he did best -- scout. He remembered seeing people in the village the few times he'd scouted around; he could only assume people would be here again, maybe they got strange messages too.

Despite Raiden being considerably more compact than the war machines Frank was better acquainted with, a Metal Gear was a Metal Gear -- and Raiden stuck out like a sore thumb. Stealthily, the little ninja moved in closer to where Raiden was standing before the tree.

Frank cast his eyes up, looking at the ghostly visage floating above the Christmas tree. There was one... coming up behind Raiden too? Frank wasn't sure what to make of this.

He moved down into a crouch, keeping himself somewhat obstructed from view behind a small fence, intent on keeping an eye on things.

Raiden stopped short, thankful for his quick reflexes, as a translucent form passed right through his back and came to a stop in front of his face. It certainly distracted him from his main goal of approaching the Overlord; he instinctively took a leap back and gripped the hilt of his high frequency blade.

"... What do you want?"

Asch stalked toward the giant tree, annoyance clearly plastered on his face. It didn't take much to figure out that Christmas was the equivalent of Midwinter's Fest, though the decor for the holiday was somehow ten times more obnoxious than they were on Auldrant. The strange message he had gotten on his voicemail hand thrown him for a loop, however; he vaguely remembered meeting his recipient over the Dreamberries when she first arrived... for like, all of three seconds? He gathered she was a fontech freak like Guy, but, while he wasn't incompetent, he wasn't exactly well versed in the advanced stuff. Guy needed to get his scrawny ass back here already.

The aforementioned "fontech freak" was in fact in the vicinity, sitting over to the side of the plaza in plain view of the tree. She was staring down at her Dreamberry, fingers punching the keys rapidly, and the Dreamberry's display showing...a lot of numbers that did not look like any of the device's normal operations.

Ah! There she was. He hurried to run over and ask what she wanted... before he stopped. Wait, this was "secret", right...? So he had to be much more discreet.

He continued toward her more calmly, trying not to make a face at what she was doing. Fontech freaks... where was Guy when he needed him?

"Hi there," he said as pleasantly as he could manage.

She looked up briefly at him. She hadn't known that there were children in this place, not that it particularly mattered; children were rarely interesting. She looked back down at the phone. "Hello."

Amber stood in front of the Christmas tree, hands on her hips and a smile on her face. How long had it been since she had truly been able to sit down and enjoy a Christmas? Not since her life as a 'human'. Before the change. She noticed other people wandering into the square, and her eyes skimmed right over the pale overlord- perhaps not even seeing her.

She shook the Dreamberry in her hand. Mitsuki Konishi. It was a Japanese name. Of course, Amber already knew what she would be getting for the stranger. She smiled at the thought. This was true Christmas spirit right here.

Raven had been out walking, still wondering about who this "Amber" person was. Apparently he was supposed to give her a gift? But then...what was this "Secret Santa" thing to begin with anyway? That made another person to worry about...

With a sigh, he ran a weary hand through his hair as he found his way to the tree and spied the young woman standing in front of the tree, a smile on her face. Well it was certainly a pleasant change from the confusion and gloom he had been going through.

"Looks like yer pretty happy about all this," he said cheerfully as he walked up to her.

Amber turned, looking over her shoulder. Upon seeing the handsome man there, she brightened considerably. "Ah, of course!" She smiled at him, tilting her head. "It's been quite a while since I've been able to really enjoy Christmas." She folded her hands behind her back. "Are you happy?"

Raven paused for a moment. Was he happy?

"You could say that, I guess," he ended up saying. "The cold kind of makes it a little rough, though," he added with a small laugh before taking a few steps closer to her.

He held out a hand. "The name's Raven."

Minatsuki was bundled up in layers. If there was one thing she now hated, it was winter. In Deadman Wonderland, they never had to worry about snow or rain or...

"UGH." She made her displeasure known aloud as she stomped up to the Christmas tree. She was curious about how it managed to remain so bright and green even in this miserable weather. Who took care of it? She'd been searching for a greenhouse but found none.

And here came someone who heard sound of displeasure and noting that it was a girl, could not help but come to her.

"Is something the matter, miss?" Tamaki asked with a bit of concern. With all those layers it was rather obvious she didn't like the cold but there may be something else. If anything, the blond was certainly more than willing to help.

Minatsuki turned (looking a bit penguin-like as she did) to face the person who had spoken. She opened her mouth, ready to fire off a 'Fuck off, pig!' when...

Her mouth dropped.

"O...Onii-san."

With the snow falling and cloudy conditions, she could only think that the tall, handsome blonde boy standing near her could be Yoh Takami. So he had arrived.

De ja vu? This certainly wouldn't be the first time someone mistook Tamaki for her brother, but this was definitely different.

...And he had to admit the motion was a bit cute but he was a bit too surprised and feeling a little awkward.

"Ah...I think you have mistaken me for someone else. I'm Suoh Tamaki. I believe this is the first time we met..."

Yuri wandered near the tree, much smaller now than he had been before he used that weird card. (Being in an eleven year old body again was WEIRD.) He had gotten some strange message on his Dreamberry about a Secret Santa...? Whatever THAT meant... anyway, apparently he was supposed to get a gift of some sort for someone named Haruhi? He'd never even met her (was it even a her? It sounded like a female name, but he didn't really know) before, but he was hoping maybe someone else had, so that he could find out what sort of thing to get her. He didn't really know much about gift-giving. In the lower quarter, where money was tight, they had usually made gifts, or given some sort of service (cooking or cleaning or things of that nature) for free. But they had all known each other... they'd never just given random gifts to people they didn't know. Was that normal in other places?

Well, whatever. By the looks of it he wasn't the only one confused by the message, anyway.

Clara had been just watching from above, happy to see all the people finally for the first time. When she spotted Yuri looking a little lost, however, she couldn't help but try and help it. It was just in her nature, the poor girl.

So she quickly flew down and smiled at him. "Hello! Is there something I can help you with?"

"...?!"

Yuri was a bit startled. He wasn't scared of ghosts, really, and he knew that Somarium had them, but to be suddenly spoken to by one was a little unnerving nonetheless. Back on Terca Lumereis, ghosts were enemies to be fought and defeated (particularly the ones on that weird ghost ship), but this one hardly looked or acted like an enemy.

"H-hello," he said, once he'd gotten over the shock a little. "I was just trying to figure out what exactly a 'Secret Santa' was. We don't really have anything like that where I'm from. And I was wondering who..." and here he lowered his voice, just in case Haruhi was around somewhere so she wouldn't overhear, "...Haruhi was. I'm... supposed to get a gift for her...?"

Clara smiled at his question. How could a world not know the wondrous tradition of a Secret Santa? But that just made her all the happier to know that she was helping in introducing these fine people to tradition.

"A Secret Santa is when you are assigned to get a gift for someone without telling them! It's really in the spirit of Christmas where you get your friends and loved ones gifts. Secret Santas just allow people to get others gifts they normally wouldn't have. In this case, it helps you meet new people!"

She looked up thoughtfully. "As for Haruhi...I'm not really sure I know her," she said in soft apologetic voice, also not wanting to make the mistake and get Yuri in trouble. That would be horrible! "I don't know who all the people are...sorry..."
