Mokona was bored. This, of course, was not a good thing. So he had decided to go wandering around. And then he saw a blond boy outside what looked like a library. So he bounced over to him, and onto the bench next to him.

Mokona was curious, so he stretched up on the tips of his feet so he could try to see the book's content.

For a brief moment, Eliot thought that he saw something bounce up out of the corner of his eye. He looked to the side... Just a black rabbit. He was about to go back to his book, but then...

Why was a black rabbit sitting next to him? That wasn't a black rabbit!

"What the hell?!" Eliot had already jumped up to his feet, dropping the book and staring at the weird... thing.

Mokona hadn't meant to startle him. He bounced down and picked up the book (unfortunately, when it fell, the correct page had been lost). Mokona handed it up to Eliot.

"Mokona sorry. Mokona didn't mean to make you lose your page..."

Instead of calming down, Eliot just seemed to be even more shocked now, but he wasn't gonna back down like a sissy. He didn't say anything for a bit, because his mind was still trying to process what just happened.

"You can TALK?!"

Rena never really went to the library often (she wasn't much of a reader) but she figured it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Library coming into view, there also seemed to be blond haired boy reading a book in the front. Curiosity got the better of her at she stopped in front of him.

"What book are you reading, I wonder?"

He glanced up at the girl only for a second before looking back down at the book again.

"It's Holy Knight."

"Hmmmm." Rena peered up, trying to see some of it. "What's it about?"

She had to be joking! Even people who hadn't read the book knew the basics of what it was about!

"... You've never heard of Holy Knight?!"

When you thought you were having a wonderful reading time, it smacks you back in the face. Literally. Atoli was just trying to get a big cook book out of the bookshelf, but it was lodged in there pretty tightly. So when she pulled the book out forcibly, it flew out of its spot and to back of Eliot's head. Panicking, she called out.

"W-watch out!"

And here he is, minding his own business... Was someone shouting at him?

"Huh-- GAH!" He had turned around just in time to see a huge book flying at his face, and barely managed to duck. With an annoyed growl, he glares back up at the girl who yelled.

"Watch it! You trying to kill me?!"

Worried and deeply apologetic, she ran over to him and let out a small sigh when she saw that he looked okay.

And absolutely angry.

"I-I am sorry...! I didn't mean to - the book was stuck and I just..." She scratched her head, an frown appearing on her face. "Um... if you're hurt, I can heal you at least."

He was gonna yell at her, and tell her not to apologize, but what she said made him more confused then anything.

"... Heal? What the heck are you talking about?"

Naturally, ever since Oz had found the library during his first few weeks in the strange world that was Somarium, the blond Bezarius heir had dedicated a good chunk of his week to looking at the plethora of books. He hadn't really searched the entirety of the library, opting to stick near one section and eventually make his way through the entire thing. It hadn't dawned on the youth to search out his favourite book series. Perhaps he should have, in hindsight.

Which, subconsciously, was the reason why Oz was making his way to the building from Espoir. He paused once close to it, noticing a familiar face. Ah right, that was Gilbert's younger brother, wasn't it? He hadn't really gotten to talk much with him in the tunnels, apart from the tripping scenario and a few words uttered after that.

"Ah...I didn't know you liked that series too!" Oz declared as he took a few tentative, casual steps closer to the other.

Uh oh... He had actually been kind of avoiding being alone with Oz for a while now. Eliot just had no idea to say to him anymore after learning his last name... But...

"What in the world are you on about? You knew that!" Of course, he had to know! That was how they had met!

"Ah...I did?" Oz tilted his head some and took another curious step towards Eliot. "Perhaps it slipped my mind." Maybe Eliot had mentioned something about the books while they were in the tunnels and he had just missed the Nightray brother saying that.

"You're on the first one?"

"Don't play dumb! It was when we talked about that..." Eliot gritted his teeth, rethinking what he was about to say for a second. He was about to say 'that trash,' "We were talking about Edgar!"

She really wasn't going to get used to this place anytime soon. The entire premise was beyond illogical, and barring that, there were too many unknown variables that she simply did not have the means to derive. And as confident as she was in her abilities to adapt, even she had to admit that she wasn't comfortable in a situation which she had no control over. Being in the know had always been a certain privileged of hers, one that she had long since taken for granted it seems, if what's happened in the past little while had any say in the matter at all ( ... )

Eliot hadn't even noticed Rita as she approached him. His anger level was slowly building up, as he finally arrived at the scene where that damn Edgar finally made his first of many infuriating appearances. The second Rita spoke, his shoulders jerked up as he suddenly tensed.... Oh no, he did NOT just hear what he thought he heard.

He was now looking over the top of his book at her, a dangerous look in his eyes. "...What did you just call it?"

She totally didn't get the cue. Then again, she really wasn't paying much attention to the person. The disappointment from earlier was still palpable, and, well, she wasn't known for being amazingly tactless for nothing. Crossing her arms in typical annoying Rita fashion, she raised an eyebrow.

"Reading all that junk must have rotted your brain, or something." She sniffed with derision. "You know. Fiction. Novella. Yarn. Non-educational drivel. Things that little kids and people who don't know any better kill time with. A children's book."

"What the hell is your problem?!" God! It was obvious he liked the book if he was reading it, and this girl just waltzes right on up to him and essentially calls him an idiot for it?! How rude could you get?

... Yeah, Eliot really has no right to talk, but at least he always waited until he had at least talked to someone before he started spouting off his opinions on them.

"Just because it's fictional doesn't mean it's for children!" Seriously... This series had over ten books, and they were all pretty substantial in size. It also dealt with a whole lot of serious issues, and encouraged the readers to become involved in analyzing the plot to try to find out for themselves who the murderers were before they could reach the end of the book.
