As much as Jet liked Espoir--he felt nostalgic, seeing a village again--he knew he had to explore Somni as well. It was best to know one's surroundings, after all, and knowing the layout of only Espoir could come back to kick him one day.
... Besides, he was bored.
And thus, he wandered around the city, taking in the strange buildings and objects. There was something cold about the place, he decided. Maybe it was all the metal and glass, or just the entire unfamiliarity of the place.
It took a long time, but he finally reached the edge of the city. True to Ino's words, a desert lay out before him. While he didn't intend to explore that area as well, he moved forward--only to crash into some kind of barrier.
"What the...?" he muttered, taking a step back. He held his hand out in front of him. Sure enough, there was a series of lines and weird symbols that hadn't been there before. He removed his hand, and they disappeared.
Well, this was something he hadn't considered.
