Character(s): Damage, BlackBerry, Hover
Content: Arrival
Setting: The Army Base
Warnings: big booms, pessimism

Damage, just reaching the edge of Earths field of gravity, felt BlackBerry shift inside his compartment before a brilliant flash overwhelmed his external sensors.  Feeling himself falling, he fought blindly to readjust his course altering his form to better direct the fall.  Managing to regain control of his optics he wrenched them open.  The sight before him halted all his processes for nearly a breem.  Not only was he now hurtling towards a planet, it was a completely different one than the one he had just been leaving!  The rate at which he was falling increased exponentially as gravity caught a greater hold and rushed him towards the planet below.  Damage had only the impression of overwhelming red before having to shield his optics to protect them during his uncontrolled landing.  As re-entry heated his form beyond what was safe to sustain, he shifted desperately, trying to adjust for impact by moving the heavier shielding plates to protect the more critical things; spark, processor, and companion.

A meteor streak flashed across Solluna city, over the fountain to strike unerringly in the area of the army base.  The impact shook the earth.  Ancient buildings in the surrounding area crumbled as though exploded from within and unsteady structures across the city collapsed to the earth.  A plume of dust rose in the air, obscuring the deep trench dug in the earth nearly a quarter mile long across the army base tarmac.

It was the worried beeping from BlackBerry that roused Damage from his off-lined state.  The dust still settling around him as he shifted and groaned, his sensors screaming his injuries at him.  “S’al right B’rry. Stay still.”  Moving painfully he shed the last of his transition form, sitting upright with difficulty.  He looked around him, taking in the structural destruction wondering if he had damaged his optics color receptors in the crash.  The red tinge covered every thing, even himself as dust settled on his form and he turned to inspect his own injuries.  His proto-form looked worse for wear.  Deep grooves scored his arms and legs, the right arm was nearly non-responsive, suffering heat and impact damage and leaking energon in a steady drip.  It would be difficult, and painful, but he could still transform if necessary.  Scanning, and finding no nearby lifeforms at the moment, he decided to take a moment to check his companion.

Leaning back he opened the little compartment just below his spark that housed BlackBerry, having to do it manually when the internal system would not respond.  Great, one more thing he would have to repair.

"Get outta there ya little glitch." he called, when no immediate movement was forthcoming.  He could feel the tickle of the mini-bot's scuttling legs and it rushed from it's compartment onto the waiting hand.  Bringing the hand up to his optics he gave the little guy a thorough scan, checking for any injuries and finding none.  Noticing BlackBerry's quiet beeping as he was taking in their unusual surroundings, Damage too turned to look around again.  "Well 'Berry, I don't know what the frag is going on, but I'm going to get us some answers and soon."
