It's alive... ALIVE!!
Well since I knew nobody would be online tonight I decided to take a chance and wash/dye my long coat.
The dye seems to have taken well to the fabric and made it a nice uniform black. Though right now it's still extremely wet and appears shiny, It should look fine when it dries and I manage to hand wash it a couple of times.
The process was simple in theory but difficult in application because that coat is thick and rather heavy. Once it was completely soaked it seemed to weigh about 40 pounds. I didn't have enough strength to wring it out after rinsing it.
It was that heavy.
The only unfortunate casualty of the whole process was my bathtub which I needed to dye so much fabric. It became quite stained and I'm still in the long process of cleaning it.
At least now I'll have something to wear my hat with for night walks.
I'm definitely putting it together with my ninja suit for Halloween.
