My non-spoilery thought on tonight's premiere of 24: AWESOME CASTING OMG.
Kal Penn from Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.Alexander Suddig from Star Trek: DS9 (Dr. Bashir!!), who I recently saw in Syriana. And then the previews had a flash of someone else I got excited about, but it was so quick and I didn't place the name - and now the face has faded. But! Tomorrow! More hot men! WOOT. (ETA:
newnumber6 pointed out that the guy in the preview is Canadian comedian
Shaun Majumder. I knew he looked familiar!)
And then seeing all the old familiar faces - Chloe, Curtis (!!), Buckanen, NEW PRESIDENT PALMER FTW! (His regret at the end of the episode - "Jack was right" - is an important lesson for a new president: NEVER DOUBT JACK BAUER.)
And then the familiar faces that I don't really remember. Like Chloe's boyfriend. I know he was a new guy last season, but I forget what happened with him. My gut tells me I don't like him. Anyone else remember? Is he a slimebag, a terrorist spy, or just kind of a dink?
I got excited when I saw Palmer's sister, though I forgot who she was at first. Cool that she's standing up for her beliefs, though that's really radical (yay!) and I wonder what he brother will say. He was never as certain in his democratic principles as David. He's easier to sway, as evidenced by this episode. But I still love him.
Who is the new head of CTU? That was never made clear. I guess Buckanen must still be in the same position? Or is it that new chick?
Jack's hands, OUCH. It's interesting to see him flinch at torture and say he doesn't know if he can do this anymore. Understandable after being in a Chinese prison for two (?) years, and an interesting character arc for him.
Oh, and I got excited about President Palmer's chief aid guy, too, at first, until the character turned out to be a dink. But I'm forgetting where I know him from. I want to say Star Trek or Buffy or something, but I don't think those are it. (ETA:
jadedsouls tells me he's Peter McNichol - used to be on Ally McBeal and recently was a professor on Numb3rs.)
And now I should go to bed, so I'll leave further squeeage for tomorrow night!
