I got my baby!
I've been wanting to get a notebook computer for a while for writing. I wanted the portability of a laptop, but didn't need anything advanced on it since I already have a computer for that stuff. I just needed to be able to type and maybe connect to the internet for research since one of my biggest obstacles after work is my reluctance to sit at my desk to write. However, I am very cheap, so I told myself I would do it in a few months as a Christmas/25th present to myself. (That's the only way I could justify the expense, since I already have a perfectly functional computer.)
But Best Buy had a sale tonight for card members, so I said "why not?" and headed over. Unfortunately, the one a few blocks from my apartment was out of the model I wanted. As I was walking out the door, I got the usual "Did you find everything you need?" Usually I just nod or say yes because there's no point in making the cashiers feel guilty for something being out of stock, but tonight I was honest, and because I took the extra few seconds to answer, my eyes wandered to the board where they were recording the raffle winners. There was one number on it. As I continued to walk out the door, something told me to check my ticket...and it was me. I've never won a raffle in my life. So I got a $50 gift card and the night wasn't a loss.
But then I decided to try the Best Buy a few miles away...and they had one left!
MINE. And for $50 less due to the gift card. I'm squeeing over a computer here.
It is all pretty and tiny and new and has nothing on it yet.
Lindsay and Brandon aren't at all enthused by my joy. I got a new mood theme/layout though, and the little dolphin in my mood icon is.
