Brad, my younger brother, participated in the 48hr film challenge last week with a bunch of his film school buddies. Some of you may have read about the challenge in various Toronto newspapers over the last few days, but for those who haven't, it requires a small team to write, capture, and edit a film in 48hrs, incorporating a list of criteria given to each team by the challenge organizers. We found out yesterday that Brad's film got into the top 20, so today he picked up a tux from Syd Silver Formals (which our cousin owns), and he just headed out to the black-tie gala. It probably helps that the director was Brandon Cronenberg (son of...), but Brad's cinematography was really imaginative and original, and we're all crossing our fingers for him and his team. Hopefully, he will be able to post the film online eventually.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
Best Film
Runner up Best Film
Best Director
Best Actor
Best Editor
Best Cinematographer
Audience Choice Award
