I'm back from Israel, and I have even more unsettled issues with the country than I did before I left. I don't want to get into it now, because I did that for a couple hours last night with Paul, and I'm mentally tired. But I should have all my pics up on a website soon. Here's one that my friend Aron from Calgary took of us covered in mud at the dead sea:
Left to right: Jacky, me, Mitch, Deja, & Jon. (Montreal, Toronto, Dundas, Hamilton, and Vancouver respectively).
I'm just so glad to be home, and I love Canada more than ever. I lost 6 pounds in 10 days in Israel, mostly because all I could find to eat was Falafel and Shwarma (and being a vegetarian all that leaves is the former). And on my last day there, I was on Israeli reality TV's answer to the Amazing Race. The mission was for the couple to buy me, and 9 other foreigners, what else? A falafel. Thank GOD for the following items: Grilled cheese, peanut butter & jelly, popcorn, Kraft dinner, (insert all other non-middle-eastern foods here)....
I ate 3 ice cream bars this weekend and gained 2 pounds back.
First of all, PINK FLOYD HAS REUNITED and no one seems to care. I thought this would be a huge story, but apparently not.... I have no money to fly to the UK, but if I did, I would. Cash-strapped Floyd fans of the world, let us all hold hands, and pray for a tour.
Second, I got promoted today. What does this mean? Basically, more money and 3 wks paid vacation. And then of course, I had to compose the expected this-is-me-sucking-up-in-the-form-of-a-thank-you-email for my boss, and her boss whom I copied in.
"Adina,
I just wanted to offer my sincerest thanks, once more, for the promotion. It really means a lot to me that the work I have been doing is not going unnoticed. I intend to continue to show you just how much I can bring to this position and this team in the coming months. Again, I really appreciate the acknowledgement."

"Congratulations to you Lindsay, from all of us!"

Missione accompli.
I can't tell if I'm still jet lagged, or if I've developed chronic fatigue syndrome. On the weekend, I would fall asleep when Ben left for gigs around 6pm, and wake up around 3am when he returned. Then I'd stay up for maybe an hour and watch some "24" on DVD, and then fall asleep again until 1pm the next day. Shampoo, rinse and repeat.
I really need to know who is up for hanging out this summer. Ben found out when I was away that he has to go to Seattle to record with Christine Evans on June 23rd, plus a few shows in B.C., plus the tour in August, and a few shows with Liam Titcomb here and there, so I'm going to want to go for drinks to pass the time. And cosmos were shite in Israel, so I need to make up for it here. Who's in?
