Hard Work Pays Off... Let that be a lesson Kids.
The last few years have been a long, winding road through the labyrinth of Graduate School. I can honestly say that all of the long hours spent peering into long forgotten texts, molding my mind into an elite machine, finally paid off. Today my advisor told me that there is a Disability Studies Anthology interested in submissions. She knows the editors, and told them about my work. They were eager to read an abstract. SO... it has been a long winding road, and there is undoubtedly way more work to be done, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! There may be a ray of hope. Finally! I can publish the precious field paper in a meaningful anthology that will be widely read.
Today is one of the proudest moments in my academic career. Hard work pays off... let that be a lesson kids. Stay in school. Work hard. You'll be rewarded. Maybe not financially, but in other, less tangible ways.
