Hiccup Before Apartment Success / Job Getting Easier / Beach Trip

in my last entry ten days ago, I mentioned Nicole and I had submitted applications at an apartment complex in Tualatin. There was a bit of a hiccup with the paperwork and it turns out that the complex we're currently in temporarily refused to confirm that we were living here. That simple bit of information was holding up our applications at the Tualatin complex. The solution was to give our Intent to Vacate notice to our current complex. It was a horrible situation because everyone had to sign it and it seemed so ridiculous. Once we had that done, we thought we were done altogether. When a couple days went by and we'd heard nothing from anyone about the applications we'd submitted, we did some calling around and apparently, our current complex was straight up lying that we'd completed their Vacate form. For 48 hours, they were telling everyone we hadn't yet signed the form. Our application and the fees involved were about to go up in smoke.

I haven't been so worked up on the phone with someone since 2006 when my Geo and I were rear-ended by a tow truck and the insurance company was trying to low-ball me. I called up the current complex and kept them on the line while they explained in detail what they were doing and how they're making the situation right. It was a heated conversation and I detected quite a bit of snark from their end. It's surprising how Nicole and I have been living here less than two months and already we've been treated worse by the management here than we ever were the entire time we lived at our previous complex in Beaverton.

Doesn't matter because the end is near! Once that paperwork was figured out, our applications were approved! Nicole and I will be Tualatin residents come late June! We can't wait. It's going to be great to have our own space and privacy again. Can't wait.

It's the third week at my job where I don't have a trainer helping me and I'm all alone. Things are actually going quite well. I'm capable of doing 90% of everything and it's just that 10% that sucks. I don't know too many people yet but I'm hoping that will come in time. I just hope I don't screw up. Time will tell...

It was a good thing we got that paperwork for the new apartment taken care of when we did, because over the weekend, Nicole and I got away from the city and rented a cottage on the beach for two days of couple's time. Ohh wow, it was an amazing weekend and made that much sweeter knowing we'd landed a new apartment and things are looking up. The weather was incredibly cooperative, too!
