This'll be a quick entry since I'm feeling sick and I have work to be at in thirteen hours, so I'm gonna sleep and hopefully get better in time for a twelve hour shift. Who doesn't love getting sick right before the beginning of a new work week? Ugh.
I've got glasses! Nooo, not the kind you pour drinks into (Although I do need those...) but the prescription kind you put on your head and see through; ya sillies. I finally took advantage of the eye-care insurance I've been paying for since May of last year to get my peepers checked out. Especially after that
chemical exposure incident from just before Thanksgiving. Everything is fine with my eyes except I've got 20/25 vision. Since that's such a minor correction, I don't need glasses, but they offered to set me up with some that would give me 20/15 vision. That means that what a normal-sighted person can see at fifteen feet, I can see at twenty. I've been wearing them for a couple weeks now and it's quite a miraculous adjustment. What have I been missing all these years with my ever-so-slightly burry eyes! I can't wait to go see movies and be able to see the screen completely free from even the slightest blurring. To complete the look, I got a short haircut. Wanna see?
The workload at my job has picked up a bit and now the one-week February shutdown they were planning has been cancelled. Whew! But now they're still deciding about a one- or two-week shutdown at the end of March. They promise we'll be told on February 20th if it's happening or not. I kinda hope there is one since I was planning on inviting Jacalyn out to my apartment one of those weeks. I'd love to take a trip to NYC and rock
sassylilscorpio's world for a few days. That would be wild to finally meet the woman behind such an important friendship of mine. I should also try to squeeze in visits from all my local friends too. It'll be a busy packed "vacation" if it happens!
Okay, so my physical therapy has begin for the pain in my side. I visited with a therapist on Monday and for ninety minutes he pulled at all the muscles in my chest and we really ticked off the area I've been experiencing this pain. It looks like I may finally have my answer, after an entire year of pain! For half an hour every day, I have to do some really yoga-esque stretches and poses. This has really awoken and angered the muscles associated with the site of the pain, so maybe after a few months of this, the pain will die away. Which is what the doctors are expecting. Whew! Now, I need to find my bed and sleep until I'm not sick anymore.
