I am awesome. Even though it's awesome that no-one only a small handful of people will ever benefit from.
I just spent six hours subtitling Fires of Pompeii in Finnish.
I've always wanted to try some subbing of my own, but it's only now that I've found the right sort of software to do it. And the right sort of... well, I am legally a 100% nutjob anyway, so let's forget about the sanity part. Mostly, I was just testing to see if my translation mojo could last for an entire episode and I used a set of English subs as a guide (that saves a fuckload of time what with the timecodes), but hooolyfuck. I DID IT.
And now I can force this on unsuspecting Finns. Mwha ha ha ha ha. BUT HOLY FUCK, I DID A MASSIVE TRANSLATION JOB ALL ON MAH OWN. And it's a damn sight better than Backstroke of the West or something. Must... not... attempt... Doctor/Master stuff next...
Oh yeah, subs are
here, right click and save as (works best with .avi files). So now all the Finns can laugh at me. If they can be arsed, that is. There are a couple of weak bits, but holy fuck, I think I did pretty well for a first-timer. And non-Finns can learn dodgy Finnish. There. And now I'm so knackered I'll probably sleep past tonight's episode. Oops. *flump*
