And the thumb-sucking as an erotic metaphor thing reminded me of this 18th century painting where some woman of ill repute had her thumb on her mouth, but I can't remember who she was or who painted her. I've tried to Google and wiki it, but haven't found anything yet. Anyone know the painting I'm talking about? I know it caused a scandal at the time... the woman was either English or French, I think, and I'm pretty sure it was from the 18th century. Haalp?
