God is Angry and I Know Why

It's only a Tuesday, but it's already been a terrible, god-awful week. The mystery of the pain in my hand (which has been going on for almost a month now) has been solved. My piano teacher (granted, he's not a doctor, but he's seen it all) thinks it's a combination of carpal tunnel and tendinitis, since my hand is now hurting in three different spots (the area near the middle finger which would be the carpal tunnel, the area near the thumb and the area near the pinkie, which would be the tendinitis). So what do you do when piano is your life? He made me quit the really nice pieces I had been working on and start new ones, ones that work out my left hand and give my right hand a break (though I dunno how well this is going to work, since my left hand is now starting to hurt too...) I blame it on my piano festival (I practiced for three hours or more everyday during that week) and my excessive computer use (I'm usually on for at least two hours a day). My parents have been doing acupuncture on my hand, and it's awful (though I'm not saying you should rule out acupuncture if you're suffering from severe pain). I hate it, but it's what I have to do if I'm ever going to be able to play those pieces again.

So don't expect to see a lot of me for the next few weeks. I might need to get on the computer a few times a week to type up essays, but I feel like I absolutely need to rest my hand (and curb my Internet addiction while I'm at it) for a while. Ring me up if you really want to talk.
