The game play is, to me, indistinguishable from any other game.  Just with the added complication of different skills you have to unlock with different weapons.  For some people, this is probably awesomesauce.  For me its... okay, whatever, did it really need to be this complicated?  It just doesn't feel like it adds much, though it does keep one's ( Read more... )

Although this would not be out of place on Saturday Night Live, it is apparently real. An IKEA store in Australia is the testing ground for what IKEA is calling "Manland," where shoppers - presumed to be only women - can leave their spouses - presumed to be only men - while they shop. Okay, granted Fringe isn't really my kind of show in the first place.  I'm not really into horror.  But pretty much everyone I like that I work with watches it and I succumbed to peer pressure and borrowed the first season from one of them.  It's sort of interesting, if one is in to vaguely sci-fi horror, but it's irking me on other levels.

Aion is a gorgeous, gorgeous game set in a wonderfully weird world. Sadly, it has got the worst case of chain-mail bikini syndrome I've ever seen in an MMO. Now, I realize that it's only the forth MMO I've played and I'm sure there may be far worse offenders out there, but I really hope not.

While the gameplay is mostly enjoyable (though requiring of more skill than most MMOs), the game has some sexism issues - at least one of which is straight out of the comics. *sigh*
