 Max and Smokey are getting along better.  I even left them alone together for part of the day today and didn't come back to wrecked apartment or wrecked cats.  Smokey is still a bit on the flaky side, but she was flaky before she moved in.  I may see if they can get along overnight.  Max absolutely hates being shut up in my room and it's starting ( Read more... )

I have recently taken in a friend's high strung, food allergy plagued cat. Max (my original cat) is mostly okay with this, though it would help if Smokey (new cat) were a bit more... normal. I hate being poor.  I really, truly hate it.  I know that compared to many people - even some I work with - I am privileged and doing well.  This says more about how deeply fucked up things are in the country and the world than it does about my financial situation.

I have a bad cold.  Or possibly the flu.  I don't know, but my head is stuffed up and I'm coughing up crap and, well, I generally feel like crap.  Great way to spend the weekend.

My good friend with the kitty powers called me after work to tell me she had to put her 21 year old cat, Doogie, to sleep.  He broke his hip jumping down from something and was already too weak (he'd been losing weight for about a month before this) to survive any kind of surgery to repair it.  She stayed with him (and her mom stayed with her) ( Read more... )
