Is it not the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?? Humor me and say, "YES!"
Rhonda and I had been discussing purchasing a new mattress for a good number of weeks. Saturday morning we both woke up feeling groggy and sore from much interrupted sleep on a not so comfy mattress (I'm being nice). Rhonda's first words to me after, "good morning" and "I. need. coffee." were "WE ARE GOING MATTRESS SHOPPING TO-DAY." I had no qualms with that, as I was also suffering a sore back and a case of "the grumpies" from lack of adequate rest.
We took a field trip to Gallery Furniture that afternoon. After rolling around on a few mattresses with
Mattress Mac and simulating a slow-motion lesbian pillow fight on the sales floor, we were sold. Our brand new pillow-top Simmons with a thin layer of memory foam was delivered at about 4:45 yesterday. We also (finally) bought a new comforter (yes, Meesh, It matches the room beautifully!) to go with our new Beautyrest. And MY GOD, slipping into bed last night was like a drunken, naked, satin caress atop a pile of clouds and rainbows. I have fallen in love all over again; and her name is Simmons.
This morning during snuggle time, Rhonda said, "this is our wedding present to our selves." I could not agree more. Who knew a mattress could bring me more joy than an intravenous coffee drip or the smell of honeysuckle or a baby pool full of chocolate pudding?
