I Want To Be My Dog...

Seriously. She's curled up next to me on the couch, looking completely adorable. She's asleep & apparently having a happy dream because she's wagging her tail in her sleep. I dreamed about her last night, oddly enough. Mom was yelling at me to walk her in a blizzard & for some reason all of Hannah's hair was turning gray, especially on her face.

The wind is blowing something fierce outside. No snow or anything, just really, really windy. No news on the job front- at least not any good news. The place I interviewed at on Tuesday told the temp agency I was great, but they've decided they're going to do something else & aren't hiring anyone after all. No word from the graphic design place yet- I'm expecting to get a "Thank you for your interest but..." letter in the mail any day. Meanwhile, my bank has randomly charged me *two* overdraft fees for no actual reason (account's not in the negative now, wasn't in the negative when the charges went through. I'm *seriously* not pleased & will be heading down there to yell in a few minutes)

Daylight saving has really messed me up for some reason. Or maybe it's that I keep staying up late to work on the crowns after a weekend where I didn't get to sleep before 5 am. Both nights, I was up writing a short story. It's part of the "Secret Project"- which is my official title for the big MFA project. It's an origin story for some of the major characters in the Otherworld. I'm toying with calling the Otherworld the Dreamtime, partially because some of the stories & characters come out of my seriously weird-ass dreams. But I'm not entirely sold on that idea since it's bit too close to Gaiman's "Dreaming" in Sandman. What's the Gaelic for dreaming or dreamtime? Anybody know? I'm already tossing in some Gaelic names for the otherorld chacters- the King's named Duir, which is "oak". Once I get the story finished, I'll post it here for critique. There's a style shift between the beginning part & the middle part that I'm not sure what to do with. I think it'll be good to have a small tale done so I can include it with my applications- particularly as the story has some objects to go with it (3 crowns, since it's about 2 queens & a king. The idea for the 2 queen's crowns is where this particular story got started. So if I can have at least one of the crowns done & the story, plus designs for the other two, I think that'll be impressive to grad committees reviewing my application.

It hit me yesterday that there's another long over-due project that would be very cool if I could get it done soon but I'm not sure I'll be able to get it together by when I want to. We'll have to see.

We've now got two of the 0-point soups made- yay! Now I need to go digging out my big bowls & such so we have enough containers to put all the soup in- Mom's running out. The Italian one is *very* good. The Mexican was last night- Wow! It'll clean out your sinuses, I'll say that. Good but not something I could eat every day. The recipe suggests adding lowfat sour cream to it as a nice addition, which I think I'll do to cool it off some.

My pilates teacher offered to have a class tonight, since I missed Tuesday (lower GI issues kept me in the bathroom for much of the night). Normally it's studio night but it's spring break this week so no hours. And no students, either. (Insert "back in my day, metals students never left the studio even if it was break"-- which is completely true, as it happens. But we were an especially nutty group. The current batch doesn't put *nearly* as much time in as we did. It shows, too.

Alright.. back to the basement with me. Bezel settings won't file themselves, unfortunately. (Man, it'd be so cool if they did)
